IMD this week welcomes another new member to the consultancy team, as part of the company’s current drive for growth. Georgina Burnett joins the company as a Junior Consultant, a role in which her experience to date will be invaluable.
Georgina originally comes from a military background, having spent the first 5 years of her career as a Royal Engineer, specialising in welding, fabrication and blacksmithing. Due to being one of the only female engineers at the time who specialised in that area, she was one of a select few invited to Buckingham Palace in February 2014 for an event to celebrate women in engineering. Her career was cut short due to injury and since then she has worked for companies in both London and Maidstone as a project co-ordinator. These roles opened up the opportunity to work with a multitude of project managers and clients and enabled her to develop a wide range of project management, data analysis and reporting skills.
In her spare time, Georgina enjoys extreme sporting challenges such as 300k road races, spartan runs and triathlons. Her latest achievement was being placed 4th in her category at the Hampton Court Triathlon and her next challenge is training for IRONMAN 70.3!
Georgina commented “I am very excited to be embarking on a new career with IMD Group” and Dean Taylor, CEO of IMD Group responded “I am delighted that Georgina is joining IMD Group. We very much welcome ex members of the Armed Services to IMD who bring fantastic skills and experience into the corporate world.”
